For years, I have dreamed of opening my own bakery to share my love of baking with my community. Sharing my vision of a cozy space where friends gather, laughter fills the air, and the aroma of freshly baked pastries lingers, I was overwhelmed by the encouragement from friends, local businesses, and loyal customers. With their support, I took the leap of faith and started working towards making Fika a reality.
Despite careful planning, unforeseen financial challenges have temporarily stalled our progress. I'm humbly asking our community to support me in creating this new space. Fika is for you, and I want to invite you to be a part of making this dream a reality.

MEET THE OWNER
Hi! I'm Jeannette Del Angel (Hernandez), the founder of Fika in Corpus Christi, TX. With over a decade of experience in kitchens across Texas, including roles as Executive Pastry Chef, I've honed my skills and had the privilege of working with talented chefs. Returning to the Coastal Bend, I've continued to share my love for baking through local bakeries and recently played a key role in opening Central Kitchen, a local scratch-made bakery. As a Corpus Christi native and dedicated artisan baker, I have made it my mission to create a cozy café where the community can indulge in the Swedish tradition of Fika.
Fika (fee-kuh), a delightful ritual of taking a break to enjoy coffee or tea with a sweet treat, is more than just a culinary experience. It's a moment of mindfulness and connection, a chance to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures of life. Whether you're meeting with friends, taking a solo break, or simply enjoying a moment of peace, I believe in the importance of taking time out of your day to recharge and reconnect.
My passion for baking is driven by a desire to create memorable experiences for my community through the art of culinary craftsmanship and personal connection. I'm pleased to offer a range of delicious pastries that are crafted with the highest quality ingredients and a deep appreciation for tradition. Fika will also proudly support local businesses by offering custom espresso and coffee blends crafted by talented local coffee roasters.
